About the 2006 Annual Conference

It is once again time for the annual Society for Innovative Medical Practice Design (SIMPD) Conference. We are excited to be hosting the 2006 conference in beautiful downtown Chicago at the historic Drake Hotel. Conference attendees will be in the center of Chicago's exciting shopping, nightlife, culture and dining experiences. The Drake Hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the Gold Coast, overlooking Lake Michigan, and right on the Magnificent Mile in downtown Chicago.

The conference will begin on Wednesday, May 3rd with an optional half-day session for practitioners who have recently begun or are considering a patient-financed practice. The program will officially kick-off on Thursday, May 4th with a full day of meetings and continue on Friday, May 5th with meetings until mid-day.

At our second annual conference, held in Dallas in 2005, we had approximately 150 physicians, nurses and administrators in attendance. This year, we expect attendance to grow by offering a conference that features speakers who are at the forefront of their respective fields. We are also pleased to announce that selected presentations will qualify for CME credits which will be an important value-added component for our physician attendees. This two-day conference will focus on current issues that face patient-financed practices and will serve as the only conference of its kind in the country.

The 2006 conference objectives are to:

  • Provide a history of the economic and political sources of the current problems in medical care delivery in the United States.
  • Allow participants in the conference to understand possible medical practice design changes that can correct the flaws in the current system.
  • Understand the complex nature of consumer driven medical care and the ways in which this will alter the lives of physicians and patients.
  • Understand the political realities that may support or constrain our efforts to improve medical care.
  • Understand ways in which medical practice can be improved by using computerized systems that support more efficient, less expense and more effective medical care.
  • Understand the legal and ethical issues involved in medical care and how these can be addressed within the framework of direct contracting between doctors and patients.

We thank you for your consideration and look forward to your participation at our upcoming conference. For questions or to secure a sponsorship, please contact style="FONT-SIZE: 12px; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana">
