
The Society for Innovative Medical Practice Design, a nonprofit organization, was founded in 2003 for the purpose of furthering the needs of physicians interested in innovative medical practices. The purposes of the organizatoin are to:
- Create a forum in which physicians can share collective wisdom and experience, evaluate the industry trends, prepare policy arguments to shape the public discourse, dialogue regarding the regulation of innovative medical practices, and proactively chart the future course of the field.
- Serve as an organized, coherent voice for such physicians.
- Track relevant legislation and regulation at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Consider lobbying to influence relevant legislation and regulation.
- Provide newsletters and web site information to members containing updates, significant events, and seminars.
- Provide educational advice to member physicians in the form of articles and memoranda on key topics.
- Organize and coordinate educational seminars that offer educational information relevant to the innovative practices.
- Offer networking opportunities.
- Offer reciprocal services from other physicians.
- Create a directory of member physicians across the country.
- Offer members model forms, guidelines and best practices for innovative practices.
